Ukraine says it struck 21 Russian tankers in Sea of Azov overnight PHOTO
Ukraine’s Defence Forces conducted overnight strikes on July 11 targeting Russian vessels in the Sea of Azov, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.
According to the General Staff, the operation—aimed at degrading Russia’s military-economic capacity—involved attacks on 21 tankers, four tugboats, two cargo ships and a dredger.

The military said the tankers had been used to transport oil and petroleum products in circumvention of international sanctions, while the tugboats, cargo ships and dredgers supported military logistics and port infrastructure operations.
The extent of the damage and the final results of the strikes are being clarified.
Robert Brovdi (“Madyar”), commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, said 73 successful hits were recorded during the operation. He added that 53 military targets were struck overnight in Crimea and the southern regions of Ukraine.
