Ukraine slams Hungarian PM’s "100-year" veto on EU membership
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has dismissed Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s pledge to block Ukraine’s path to European Union membership, saying the Hungarian leader is overestimating his ability to derail Ukraine’s European future.
Sybiha made the remarks in response to statements Orbán delivered in Brussels, where the Hungarian prime minister claimed that Hungary would “not allow Ukraine into the EU for the next 100 years,” Caliber.Az reports.
This plan is doomed to fail, Mr. Prime Minister. Your master in Moscow won’t last 100 years even if you were ready to donate him all organs. And on the day Ukraine joins the EU, we will frame this headline in @ua_parliament to remember your lies for the next 100 years. https://t.co/vlMbbjWT2F

The Ukrainian foreign minister was reacting to Orbán’s assertions about an alleged “secret plan” by the European Commission aimed at supporting Ukraine and facilitating its accession to the EU. He also addressed Orbán’s claim that in the next 100 years there will not be a parliament in Hungary that will vote in favor of Ukraine joining the European Union.
“This plan is doomed to fail, Mr. Prime Minister. Your master in Moscow won’t last 100 years even if you were ready to donate him all organs. And on the day Ukraine joins the EU, we will frame this headline in Ukrainian parliament to remember your lies for the next 100 years,” Sybiha noted.
