Ukraine starts production of 125-millimetre shells for tank guns

The Ukroboronprom company has started production of 125-millimetre shells for tank guns and the first batch for the T-64, T-72 and T-80 tanks has already been supplied.

“The production is deployed in close partnership with a NATO member state, for security reasons it is moved outside Ukraine, but Ukrainian designers, and technologists are involved in it,” the manufacturer said in his Telegram channel, according to Gazeta.Ru.

The company also said that Ukraine "for the first time since independence" launched its own production of ammunition-mortar mines of 82 mm and 120 mm calibre, artillery rounds of 122 mm and 152 mm, and now a 125 mm tank projectile.

Ukroboronprom reminded that the company signed a contract with the Ukrainian Defence Ministry for the supply of 120-millimetre mortar mines, which are also manufactured in cooperation with one of the NATO member states.
