13 May 2026 16:29
Ukraine’s military has struck key Russian fuel and gas infrastructure, including an oil refinery in Yaroslavl and a major gas processing facility in the Astrakhan region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The General Staff said Ukrainian forces hit the AVT primary oil refining unit at the Yaroslavl oil refinery, a facility that produces petrol, diesel, and jet fuel for the Russian energy sector.
It also reported damage to infrastructure at the Astrakhan gas processing plant, where a fire reportedly broke out following the strike. The plant is a critical component of Russia’s gas transport and fuel production system.
