Ukraine has repelled a large wave of Russian drone strikes overnight on June 23, the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced.
According to the statement, Russia launched 135 strike drones of the “Shahed,” “Gerbera,” “Italmas,” and decoy “Parody” types.
Air defence operations involved aviation units, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s defence forces.
Preliminary data show that as of 08:00, air defence systems shot down or suppressed 118 drones across the north, south, and east of the country.
Authorities reported 13 drone impacts at 11 locations, as well as debris from intercepted drones falling at three sites.
The statement added that the attack is ongoing, with several drones still present in Ukrainian airspace, urging residents to follow safety guidelines.
