Ukrainian Armed Forces confirm strike on Russia’s largest oil refinery VIDEO
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a strike on Russia’s Omsk Oil Refinery, located nearly 2,500 kilometres from the Ukrainian border.
According to the Ukrainian military, a hit was recorded on the site, followed by a fire. Preliminary reports indicate the strike targeted a primary oil refining unit, ELOU-AVT-11, with a design capacity of 8.4 million tons of crude oil per year.
The General Staff said the Omsk refinery is Russia’s largest oil processing facility, with an annual capacity exceeding 21 million tons, and is allegedly involved in supplying fuel to the Russian military. Kyiv also claims it is the last of 11 major Russian gasoline producers to be targeted.
Meanwhile, local social media channels reported fuel station queues in Omsk following the strike on the refinery.
