Ukrainian government reveals total damages to economy caused by war with Russia
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine confirmed in its recent report evaluating the current economic situation in the country that since the start of the “special operation”, Ukrainian economy has lost hundreds of billions of dollars.
“According to the government’s calculations, the overall losses of Ukraine’s economy due to the war have already reached $600 billion,” reads the statement issued by the ministerial cabinet, RIA Novosti reports.
Earlier, Head of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Office, Andriy Yermak said that Ukraine might lose more than 30 per cent of its GDP and 200 factories amidst the war.
According to him, 5 million people left the country since the beginning of the conflict, and about the same number of Ukrainian citizens became internally displaced persons who headed to the western cities and regions of the country.
