Ukrainian intelligence predicts how long active phase of war with Russia may last
Representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence Vadym Skibitsky has said that the active phase of Russia's war against Ukraine last until this winter, however, the overall situation would depend on the Ukrainian army’s actions.
According to him, the intensive battles may drag on as Russian President Vladimir Putin will not give up his plans.
“How long will the active phase, until September, October or until late 2022? It depends on our resistance, our defence forces and the assistance we are getting,” he said, according to RBC-Ukraine.
Skibitsky said several dates were currently mentioned today, including, in particular, on September 11 when common elections will be held in Russia and the so-called “referendums” will also take place simultaneously in the occupied Ukrainian territories. Moreover, Putin will turn 70 years old on October 7, 2022, and, perhaps, the military will want to give him a gift, according to the intelligence officer.
"It will be cold by the end of winter, and people say that Ukraine will go for talks," Skibitsky concluded.
