Ukrainian special forces destroy Russian aircraft, radar systems in Crimea VIDEO
Ukrainian special forces have conducted another successful operation in temporarily occupied Crimea, targeting and destroying key Russian military assets, according to a statement from the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence.
The operation was carried out by the elite HUR special unit Prymary ("Ghosts"), which managed to destroy two Russian An-26 military transport aircraft stationed at an airfield used by Russian forces, Caliber.Az reports via Ukrainian media.
In addition to the aircraft, Ukrainian forces also struck critical components of Russia’s air defence infrastructure. The Prymary unit reportedly destroyed a surface surveillance radar system and the coastal MR-10M1 Mys M1 radar, further degrading Russian monitoring and defence capabilities in the region.
This latest mission adds to a series of bold strikes by the Prymary unit. Notably, the group previously became the first in history to destroy two Russian Be-12 Chaika ("Seagull") amphibious aircraft in occupied Crimea. They also successfully targeted a Russian Mi-8 multipurpose helicopter in an earlier operation.
