US delegation arrives in Ukraine to discuss defence cooperation issues
The Ukrainian Defence Ministry has said that a delegation from the US National Security Council arrived in Kyiv.
The delegation is led by Winfield Swanton, who is responsible for Ukrainian affairs at the National Security Council, Caliber.Az reports per Ukrainian media.
One of the key topics of the meeting was the review of US assistance to Ukraine in 2024 and the planning of defence ministry collaboration for 2025. The sides discussed the status of previously announced investments in Ukrainian drone production, as well as the development of other joint defence industry projects.
"Particular attention was given to further US support regarding specific types of weapons and ammunition. The two sides also synchronized their positions on Ukraine's needs and US capabilities," the ministry stated.
The delegation's visit comes just before the 25th meeting of the group of Western nations coordinating arms deliveries to Ukraine, scheduled for January 9 at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany.
