US diplomat stresses importance of Azerbaijani president's Washington visit Photo
US Acting Chargé d’Affaires Amy Carlon has emphasised the significance of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s historic visit to Washington and the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the governments of Azerbaijan and the United States during the visit on August 8.
During the meeting at the Azerbaijani Health Ministry, led by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Health Teymur Musayev, the sides focused on expanding cooperation in the healthcare sector, Caliber.Az reports via the ministry.
Musayev discussed the importance of digitalising Azerbaijan’s healthcare system and emphasised the country's ongoing efforts to improve medical education, physician training, and healthcare management. He also underlined the significance of supporting the families of martyrs and war veterans.
Both sides acknowledged the potential for collaboration in medical science and healthcare, with Musayev noting ongoing efforts to establish medical institutions in the recently liberated territories from the Patriotic War.
Carlon reiterated the United States' commitment to supporting Azerbaijan, particularly in its efforts to care for martyrs' families and war veterans, and expressed her country’s interest in deepening ties in healthcare and medical education.
The discussion also touched on other areas of mutual interest, with both sides expressing confidence that the bilateral partnership will continue to grow.
