US F-35 fighter jet issues emergency signal near Arabian Peninsula

A US Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II fighter jet transmitted a 7700 emergency code, indicating an onboard emergency or distress situation, while flying near the Arabian Peninsula, according to FlightRadar data cited by Russian media.

The aircraft, with registration number 13-5067, took off at approximately 11:04 Moscow time before issuing the emergency signal. It is currently reported to be flying in the airspace of the United Arab Emirates at an altitude of around 3,000 meters and heading southwest.

According to the tracking data, the jet flew over the Gulf of Oman and Oman. The departure point, destination, and further details of the incident have not been disclosed.
