US general warns Russian, Chinese ships conduct military operations in Arctic VIDEO
Chinese and Russian vessels in the Arctic are not conducting scientific research but engaging in military activities aimed at countering NATO capabilities, U.S. General Alexus Grynkewich said, per DWS News.
“It is not for peaceful purposes. They [China and Russia] are not studying the seals or polar bears. They're out there doing bathymetric surveys and trying to figure out how they can counter NATO capabilities on and under the sea,” he said.
Earlier, the Supreme Allied Commander Europe of NATO, Alexus Grynkewich, stated that by 2027, alliance countries must be prepared for simultaneous armed confrontations with Russia and China. He believes that Moscow and Beijing could coordinate their actions.
According to the scenario outlined by the general, Russia could launch offensive actions against NATO countries, while China could carry out an operation to “reclaim” Taiwan.
