US, Iran may sign de-escalation deal next week Ahead of G7 summit
Washington and Tehran could sign a memorandum aimed at de-escalating their long-running conflict as early as next week, according to reports.
United States and Iran are reportedly exploring arrangements for a preliminary agreement, with the potential signing timed to coincide with high-level diplomatic gatherings in Europe.
Citing sources, CBS News reported that discussions are focused on a framework for conflict resolution, though details of the proposed memorandum remain unclear.
Separately, Bloomberg said the signing could take place during the G7 Summit in France, scheduled for June 15–17.
The summit is due to be held in the French Alps resort of Évian-les-Bains, close to the Swiss border. One option under consideration is neighbouring Geneva as a venue for any formal signing ceremony.
