US, its allies freeze Russian businessmen’s large-sum assets

US President’s National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan has said that the United States and its allies in the international task force REPO (Russian Elites, Proxies and Oligarchs) have frozen about $30 billion in assets of the elite and Russian businessmen.

After the start of the "special operation" in Ukraine, the US "teamed up with its G7 partners to exclude" Russia and its aides from the global financial system, TASS quotes Sullivan as saying.

"They [Russian elites and businessmen] are profiting from the suffering of the Ukrainian people. So far, REPO has frozen more than $30 billion worth of assets, from superyachts to luxury apartments," the US leader's adviser added.
