US lifts requirement for COVID-19 test for inbound travellers
The US authorities have cancelled the mandatory testing for coronavirus infection for those arriving in the country.
The corresponding order of the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) came into force on June 12 at 00:01 (GMT-5), according to TASS.
The CDC website said that during the deadline, authorities "stop requiring air passengers travelling to the US from other countries to present a negative COVID-19 test result or proof of recovery before boarding an aircraft".
At the same time, as the medical regulator explains, passengers who are not US citizens and who do not have a migration visa must still present a certificate of vaccination before departure.
In November 2021, foreigners were required to present a certificate of immunisation and a negative test result taken no earlier than three days before boarding a plane bound for the US. In December, the US authorities tightened this requirement, reducing the time frame for passing the test before departure from three to one day.
