US secretary of state outlines Trump's next steps on Ukraine peace efforts
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the administration of President Donald Trump is preparing to take steps in the coming weeks to assess the prospects for reviving negotiations aimed at ending the conflict in Ukraine.
Speaking to Fox News, Rubio said Trump has made it clear that the United States could still play a role in bringing the fighting to an end and that the administration would continue pursuing that goal.
He added that Washington remains ready to play a constructive role in efforts to resolve the conflict. According to the US secretary of state, the coming weeks will demonstrate whether American diplomatic efforts can help restart dialogue between Moscow and Kyiv.
Rubio also said Trump has instructed his team to seize any opportunity that could help inject new momentum into peace negotiations, stressing that any chance to advance the talks should be pursued.
