US Secretary of State to visit India for key strategic talks
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is set to travel to India from May 23 to 26, with scheduled visits to Kolkata, Agra, Jaipur, and New Delhi, the US Department of State announced.
During his trip, Rubio will hold meetings with senior Indian officials, where discussions are expected to focus on energy security, trade, and defence cooperation.
Ahead of his visit to India, Rubio will travel to Helsingborg, Sweden, on May 22 to attend the NATO Foreign Ministers Meeting. The talks are expected to center on the need for increased defence investment and greater burden-sharing within the Alliance.
He is also expected to meet representatives of the Arctic Seven nations to discuss shared economic and security interests in the Arctic, as well as a strengthened posture in the High North.
In addition, Rubio will hold bilateral meetings with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
