US to deploy third aircraft carrier strike group to Middle East

A third American aircraft carrier, the USS George H. W. Bush (CVN-77), will be deployed to the Middle East to take part in combat operations against Iran, Fox News reports.

The carrier recently completed exercises off Cape Hatteras and is expected to soon cross the Atlantic Ocean. The vessel will be stationed in the eastern Mediterranean.

The US command has already deployed the aircraft carriers USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) and USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) to the Middle East.
