Uzbekistan moves to open embassy in Georgia after key talks PHOTO
Uzbekistan will open an embassy in Georgia following high-level talks between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during Mirziyoyev’s visit to Tbilisi.
According to the press service of the Uzbek head of state, the two sides discussed expanding cooperation across a broad range of areas, including political engagement, trade and economic ties, investment, transport and transit connectivity, tourism, as well as cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

Mirziyoyev welcomed the launch of the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway corridor and proposed exploring its integration with the planned China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway line, in a move aimed at strengthening regional transport links.
Following the talks, the parties signed a Declaration on the Establishment of Strategic Partnership Relations, along with 14 additional bilateral agreements.
The sides also agreed to establish an Uzbek embassy in Georgia, marking a further step in deepening diplomatic ties.
