Uzbekistan, Qatar set to expand cooperation through new projects

22 June 2026 10:59

Uzbekistan and Qatar will launch a series of joint projects as part of an agreement between Uzbek Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov and Qatari government officials and leading business representatives.

During talks in Doha, the two sides discussed the expansion of investment and trade-economic cooperation, Caliber.Az reports, citing Uzbek media.

Uzbek government officials met with Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs, Ahmad bin Mohammed Al Sayed and Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah.

Following the discussions, officials reached an agreement to launch new joint projects.

Investments are expected to be directed into seven key sectors of Uzbekistan’s economy: transport, education, logistics, chemical industry, energy, agriculture and tourism.

Officials have appointed responsible coordinators for each sector to ensure the prompt implementation of the initiatives.
