Uzbekistan’s Centre of Islamic Civilisation enters Guinness World Records
Uzbekistan has achieved a landmark cultural milestone, with the Centre of Islamic Civilisation in Tashkent officially included in the Guinness World Records.
The centre is now considered to be the world’s largest museum of Islamic civilisation, Caliber.Az reports, citing Uzbek media.
The complex is located in the historic centre of the capital, within the Hazrati Imam architectural ensemble.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev launched the initiative to establish the centre.
The project was designed as a modern platform combining science, culture, and history, while showcasing the contributions of prominent Eastern scholars.
The complex features impressive dimensions: it covers around 10 hectares, measures 161 metres in length, 118 metres in width, and has a dome reaching 65 metres in height.
The total indoor area is approximately 50,000 square metres—figures that secured its record status.
Guinness World Records representative Şeyda Subaşı ceremonially presented the certificate confirming its inclusion.
The museum has also been recognised as the best museum in the Turkic world.
