Western Azerbaijan Community represented at OSCE high-level event

The Western Azerbaijan Community is represented at an OSCE high-level event.

Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Western Azerbaijan Community, MP Ramil Hasan took part on behalf of the community in a high-level event held on July 7 in Vienna on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the institution of the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities, Report informs referring to the community.

The event, which was attended by OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Bujar Osmani, OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid, OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Kairat Abdrakhmanov, representatives of the OSCE participating States, discussed the situation in the field of protecting the rights of national minorities in the OSCE space, the state of implementation by states-participants of their obligations in this area and the protection of the rights of national minorities.

Ramil Hasan informed the participants about the expulsion of Azerbaijanis from Armenia, emphasizing that Armenia’s actions are contrary to international norms on the rights of national minorities and relevant OSCE documents in this area.

This was the first case of official representation of the community at the event of an international organization.
