Germany’s President Steinmeier visits Baku White City Photo
On April 2, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, visited Baku White City during his visit to Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Earlier, an official welcome ceremony was held for German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Azerbaijan, where he was greeted by President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.
A guard of honour, accompanied by the national anthems of both countries, marked the occasion. Following the ceremony, the two Presidents held an expanded meeting, discussing a wide range of bilateral and international issues.
President Aliyev expressed his pleasure in hosting Steinmeier and highlighted their strong relationship, noting their previous meeting in Berlin. He expressed hope that the visit would further strengthen ties between Azerbaijan and Germany.
President Steinmeier, reflecting on his last visit in 2016, acknowledged the geopolitical changes since then and emphasised the importance of this visit for a productive exchange of views. The visit marked a significant step in enhancing diplomatic relations between the two nations.
An official luncheon was hosted on behalf of President Aliyev, in honor of Steinmeier.
