Western countries request UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine

First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyanskiy has said that Western countries have requested a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting for August 28. 

"The Western members of the Security Council have finally decided to bring up the Ukrainian issue at the UN in August," Polyanskiy stated on his Telegram channel, Caliber.Az reports. 

He noted that the meeting is scheduled for 3:00 (GMT-4). Polyanskiy also mentioned that Russia has requested a separate UNSC meeting on August 30 to discuss the supply of Western weapons to Ukraine.

He added that "other aspects of the Ukrainian crisis that are uncomfortable for the West" will also be addressed during the meeting.
