World Environment Day opens in Baku with focus on nature, climate PHOTO

Azerbaijan is hosting World Environment Day (WED) in Baku in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

The event is being held under the theme, “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.”, bringing together participants to highlight environmental protection and climate action initiatives, Caliber.Az reports via state media.

Mukhtar Babayev, the Representative of the President of Azerbaijan for Climate Issues, delivered an address from President Ilham Aliyev to the event participants.

Azerbaijan assumed the role of host for World Environment Day during a ceremony held in the Republic of Korea in 2024, marking the country's commitment to advancing the global environmental agenda.
