WSJ: Trump grows frustrated with Netanyahu over war pressure
US President Donald Trump has grown tired of phone calls with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has been urging continued military action, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reports.
The outlet stated that Trump has become weary of repeated conversations in which Netanyahu argues why something needs to be blown up, citing Israeli intelligence capabilities.
The report said tensions escalated into sharp remarks from the US president.
WSJ also notes that in one recent call, Trump reportedly called Netanyahu crazy and suggested he could end up in prison without US support.
The newspaper adds that the strain reflects deeper disagreements over the war with Iran.
Trump is said to be seeking a peace deal aimed at easing tensions around the Strait of Hormuz and reducing pressure on the US economy, while Netanyahu remains skeptical of diplomatic agreements and continues to push for sustained military pressure.
