Yemeni Armed Forces launch strategic attacks on Israeli, US targets
The Yemeni Armed Forces have announced a series of significant military strikes targeting Israeli positions and US assets in the Red Sea, including a major assault on the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier.
In an official statement, the Yemeni military confirmed two drone operations against Israeli sites, Caliber.Az reports per Yemeni media.
The first targeted Ramon Airport, located in the Umm al-Rashrash area (Eilat), while the second strike hit a critical Israeli facility in the occupied Jaffa region, using a "Yafa"-type drone.
The statement also highlighted a high-impact operation aimed at the US aircraft carrier Harry S. Truman and its supporting vessels. A ballistic missile and multiple drones were employed in the strike, resulting in confusion and panic among US forces. The attack led to the downing of an American F-18 fighter jet and forced the carrier to retreat to the northernmost part of the Red Sea.
The Yemeni military further claimed that this operation had disrupted an imminent aerial assault the US had been preparing against Yemen, which occurred just before the US announced a ceasefire.
In a pointed message, the Yemeni Armed Forces warned that any continuation of US aggression would prompt "severe and painful strikes." The statement reiterated Yemen's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.
Yemeni forces reassured the public of their preparedness to counter Israeli and allied aggression. They confirmed the ongoing maritime blockade of Israeli shipping in the Red and Arabian Seas, along with an air blockade on Lod Airport (Ben Gurion), stating that these operations would continue until the end of the Gaza conflict and the cessation of the blockade.
The statement concluded with a resolute pledge: "Blood for blood—with Gaza and Palestine until victory, Allah willing."
In related reports, US sources confirmed the loss of a second F-18 fighter jet from the USS Harry S. Truman in the Red Sea, with the Pentagon continuing to monitor the evolving situation.
