Yerevan rally: Parents of fire-killed soldiers demand meeting with PM Pashinyan
Parents of Armenian soldiers killed in a fire have given a week to the ministerial cabinet members to arrange a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Defence Minister Suren Papikyan.
A relative of one of the dead soldiers voiced the statement speaking to local journalists on February 20, Caliber.Az reports, quoting Armenian media.
As reported earlier, the families of the dead soldiers held a rally in front of the Defence Ministry in the early hours of February 20 morning, demanding explanations, as well as details of their children's deaths, then marched towards the cabinet’s building.
The soldiers' relatives are alarmed and distrustful of the many inconsistencies in the testimonies given by the surviving soldiers. In addition, they are suspicious about the DNA analysis carried out immediately after the soldiers' deaths.
"How could they determine in such a short time who is whose child? If necessary, we are ready to go for the exhumation to be re-taken for DNA testing in Europe," said the grandfather of one of the soldiers.
