Zelenskyy: 90% of Ukraine's peace plan agreed upon Video
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on December 26 that a revised 20-point peace plan aimed at ending Russia’s war in Ukraine is now 90% agreed upon.
He clarified that its final signing hinges on the outcome of a crucial meeting with US President Donald Trump, scheduled for December 28 in Florida, Caliber.Az reports via Ukrainian media.
Zelenskyy explained that while the peace plan is nearly complete, its successful conclusion will depend largely on how the discussions with Trump unfold.
He emphasised that without Russia's involvement, the plan could not be finalised. Furthermore, Zelenskyy pointed out that there are existing agreements between Ukraine and the United States that must also be taken into consideration. He noted that both sides are continuously updating the documents, with negotiating teams working daily to address any remaining issues.
The 20-point plan was presented on December 24 by Zelenskyy after weeks of negotiations with the US following an earlier, more detailed 28-point proposal. The revised framework aims to bring an end to the ongoing war with Russia and pave the way for long-term stability in the region.
In addition to the peace plan, Ukraine and the US have been working on a three-party security guarantee agreement that involves Europe, as well as a bilateral security pact between Kyiv and Washington. Another key aspect of the negotiations involves a “roadmap for Ukraine’s prosperity,” focusing on economic cooperation.
