Zelenskyy approves 40-day operation to end war with Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has approved a 40-day operation by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) targeting Russia.

"I approved a 40-day ​operation by the ​Service to influence the aggressor ‌state ⁠in order to press for an end to the war," ​Zelenskyy wrote ​on ⁠Telegram, Caliber.Az reports per Ukrainian media. 

The Ukrainian president said the operation "aims to end" the war but did not provide further details about its objectives, scope or planned activities.

Ukraine has for months engaged ​in waves of ​medium-range ⁠and long-range strikes on targets in Russia ⁠or ​Russian-held areas, ​mainly focused on the oil ​industry.
