Zelenskyy claims strike on two Russian oil tankers near Novorossiysk port
Ukraine’s Defence Forces carried out a strike on two Russian oil tankers in the waters near the port of Novorossiysk, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Telegram.
According to him, the vessels belonged to Russia’s so-called “shadow fleet” and were actively used for oil transportation.
“Our warriors continue to apply sanctions against Russia’s shadow oil fleet — we struck two such vessels in the waters at the entrance to the port of Novorossiysk,” the president said.
Zelenskyy thanked the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrii Hnatov, the counterintelligence unit of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), and the Ukrainian Navy for conducting the operation.
“Ukraine’s long-range capabilities will continue to develop comprehensively — at sea, in the air, and on land. Glory to Ukraine,” he added.
