Zelenskyy confirms strikes on Russian oil and logistics sites

22 July 2026 12:32

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine had carried out strikes on Russian logistics and energy infrastructure, while reiterating a call for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict.

In a statement posted on Telegram, Zelenskyy said Ukrainian forces targeted logistics hubs and an oil depot in Russia’s Krasnodar and Stavropol regions, describing the operations as successful.

“Today there was a successful strike by Ukraine’s long-range capabilities on important targets in the Krasnodar and Stavropol regions – logistics centres involved in supplying the Russian army with drone components, navigation equipment and gear, as well as another oil depot was hit.

In the waters of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, a tanker and four dry cargo vessels of Russia’s shadow fleet were hit. It is entirely fair to bring the war back home – to Russia. Peace is needed, and Ukraine has given the Russian side all proposals. It is necessary to force a transition to diplomacy,” he said.

Zelenskyy said the maritime strikes targeted a tanker and four cargo vessels operating in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, which he described as part of Russia’s “shadow fleet.”

The Ukrainian president framed the attacks as part of a broader strategy to pressure Moscow while emphasising the need for peace talks, stating that Kyiv had already presented proposals to the Russian side.
