Zelenskyy confirms strikes on Russian oil refineries, defence plant
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed strikes on multiple Russian energy and defence infrastructure facilities, including the VNIIR-Progress plant in Cheboksary, the Kuibyshev oil refinery in Samara, and an oil pumping station in the Vladimir region.
The military plant in Chuvashia was attacked with FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles, the Ukrainian leader said in a post on his Telegram channel.
“We continue to apply Ukrainian long-range sanctions against Russian military facilities and the oil industry. In particular, this night Ukrainian FP-5 Flamingo struck a military plant in Cheboksary, which supplies the Russian army with components for drones and missiles. Thanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for their precision! Also, during the past night, the Kuibyshev oil refinery in the Samara region was hit. The distance from the front line is more than 900 kilometres. I am grateful to the Special Operations Forces (SSO), the Unmanned Systems Forces (SBS), and the GUR. Fair responses by the SBU also reached two oil infrastructure facilities in the Vladimir region at a distance of 700 kilometres. Thanks to everyone who fights and works for Ukraine!” President Zelenskyy noted.
