Zelenskyy, Trump discuss prospects for trilateral talks involving Russia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed preparations for a bilateral meeting between Ukrainian and US delegations on ending the war, as well as prospects for trilateral negotiations involving Russia, during a phone call with US President Donald Trump.
Zelenskyy announced the details on his Telegram channel, noting that special envoys of the US president — Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner — also took part in the call, Caliber.Az reports.
The sides agreed on issues to be addressed at a bilateral meeting in Geneva scheduled for Thursday, February 26.
The Ukrainian president added that he and Trump also discussed holding full-format negotiations in a trilateral framework in early March.
“We expect that it will make it possible to move to negotiations at the leaders’ level. President Trump supports such a sequence of steps. Only in this way can all complex and sensitive issues be resolved and the war finally ended,” Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram.
