Zelenskyy reveals deadline for diplomatic end to Russia-Ukraine war

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the window for potentially ending the Russia-Ukraine war through diplomatic means will open with the G20 summit in December and remain open until the end of summer 2027, RBC-Ukraine reports.

“The window of opportunity for ending the war is from the G20 in the United States until the end of summer 2027, because after that the US presidential election begins. We believe that today this is the most active stage in which diplomacy can lead to an end to the war,” the head of state said during a meeting with journalists.

Zelenskyy stressed that if negotiations fail to produce results before the US election, the reason will be clear. According to him, Russian President Vladimir Putin “does not want to engage in any dialogue” and seeks maximum escalation.

The president added that Ukraine is discussing the situation with its European partners.
