Zelenskyy says Russia increasingly using North Korean missiles

Russia has stepped up its use of North Korean ballistic missiles in attacks on Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said.

In a post on Telegram, Zelenskyy noted that Russian forces launched North Korean-made ballistic missiles - Zircon and guided aerial bombs (KABs) at Zaporizhzhia overnight on August 11, Caliber.Az reports.

“This is a brutal attack aimed at causing maximum damage specifically to civilian infrastructure. Unfortunately, six people are currently known to have been killed and 19 wounded in the city,” the Ukrainian leader added.

According to him, strikes also targeted the Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Mykolaiv regions.

In addition to missiles, Ukraine was attacked by more than 120 drones, most of them jet-powered Shaheds.

“Every step by Russia — ramping up ballistic missile production, using resources from North Korea, preparations for mobilisation — all of this shows that Moscow is preparing not for peace, but for escalation,” he stressed.
