Zelenskyy says US peace plan now comprises 20 points after Florida talks
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that a peace plan under discussion with the United States now comprises 20 points, following recent diplomatic talks in Florida.
The announcement came as a Ukrainian delegation arrived in Ireland for further meetings, Caliber.Az report per Ukrainian media.
Speaking at a press conference alongside Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin, Zelenskyy noted that while the plan had been refined since initial discussions in Geneva, some provisions still require further work to meet Ukraine’s requirements.
"Today, our delegation, which attended meetings in the US with the team of the US President, has convened in Ireland. There are currently 20 points that were drafted in Geneva and subsequently refined in Florida," Zelenskyy said.
Over the past weeks, Ukrainian officials have held multiple rounds of talks with their American counterparts to negotiate the peace plan. Earlier reports suggested the original document contained 28 points, but the revised version reportedly has 19. Specific details of the latest draft remain undisclosed.
The initial US proposal included demands for Ukraine to cede the Donetsk and Luhansk regions to Russia, along with other measures considered unacceptable by Kyiv. According to sources, the current version of the plan imposes no restrictions on the size of Ukraine’s armed forces.
Zelenskyy added that the territorial issue alone was discussed for six and a half hours “on separate points” during the Florida talks.
Media reports suggest that discussions on territorial concessions have reached a stalemate, with Ukraine refusing to surrender non-occupied areas of Donbas to Russia.
