Zelenskyy unveils factors to start negotiations with Russia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that several important factors are required to start peace negotiations with Russia.
“First of all, Moscow should stop solving issues by war,” RBC-Ukraine reports, citing the president’s speech at the Ambrosetti economic forum on September 2.
“The key question is whether there is a moment of negotiations today. It does not exist today and did not exist many years before. Russia's aggression did not start yesterday, the war has been going on for eight years. Therefore, Russia should resolve issues not by war and not by murder. Presently, it wants to resolve everything by force,” President Zelenskyy said.
The president also noted that the first desire of Moscow, necessary for negotiations, should be stopping attempts to seize Ukrainian territories.
“The second important point is the desire for peace. Most European countries support Ukraine, but a united desire is required,” he said.
“The third desire is the desire of Russian society to end the war. The Russians should feel that they are to blame for this war, for their choice, for their silence,” he said.
President Zelenskyy added that the Russian citizens should be aware that there is no other alternative to the withdrawal of the Russian troops from the other country's territories.
