Azerbaijani President: Aghdam city completely destroyed during years of occupation
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has said that Aghdam city was completely destroyed during the years of occupation.
The president made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the first National Urban Forum in Aghdam on October 5, Report informs.
“Welcome to Aghdam. I am glad that we have organised this forum here. Once there was Aghdam city here. Now you see that there is nothing here,” the president said while greeting the forum participants.
“Aghdam was the biggest city of Karabakh. It was destroyed during the years of occupation, rather than during the first Karabakh war,” President Aliyev noted.
He said the city was completely destroyed during the years of occupation, while the building stones of the houses and buildings were sold.
“Armenians kept pigs and cows in the Juma Mosque. The situation like in Aghdam can be seen in every city of the Karabakh region,” the president said, adding that Fuzuli, Jabrayil, Gubadli cities were also completely destroyed.
