President Aliyev inaugurates SCADA power control centre in Yevlakh PHOTO
On June 23, Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev inaugurated the Central Aran Regional SCADA Control Center of “Azerishig” OJSC in Yevlakh, marking a significant step forward in the country’s power supply management.
During the ceremony, Vugar Ahmadov, Chairman of “Azerishig” OJSC, briefed the President on the capabilities and features of the new Control Center, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The Center is designed to ensure uninterrupted, stable, and efficient electricity supply across agricultural zones, strategically important government facilities, public institutions, and the general population. It is equipped with two 6.3 MVA power transformers of 35/10 kV capacity, alongside advanced 35 and 10 kV indoor switchgear.
A newly constructed 14-kilometre power line from the “Yevlakh” substation powers the facility. The substations of Dalimammadli, Kurakchay, Aghdash, Aghsu, Tartar, and Reinforced Concrete Products have been integrated into this regional hub, allowing centralised, real-time monitoring and control of technical parameters.
This innovative SCADA system enables the collection and processing of detailed data on power network conditions, digital control, protection, and efficient management of equipment. It also facilitates the deployment of optical digital measurement transformers and next-generation digital equipment at substations, improving the accuracy of technological measurements, reducing energy losses, and lowering operational costs.
Consumers connected to the Center can receive online notifications about planned power outages in advance. The substation operates in multifunctional mode, coordinating electricity distribution with precision based on supply and demand.
Notably, the Center supports the automatic adaptation of operations to network needs and the integration of green energy sources. It also enhances decision-making in information and technical security systems. The enclosed-type substation allows for remote management and operation, eliminating the need for a permanent on-site workforce.
Adding to its modern features, the Center includes fast-charging stations for electric vehicles, contributing to the development of sustainable transport infrastructure.
