Azerbaijani president congratulates Iranian counterpart on ceasefire agreement with Israel
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has congratulated his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian on the end of the Iran-Israel confrontation and the achievement of a ceasefire agreement, reiterating the importance of regional peace and stability.
During a phone call on June 26, President Aliyev extended condolences to President Pezeshkian for the recent loss of Iranian lives in the conflict, prayed for their souls, and wished a speedy recovery to those injured, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
In response, President Pezeshkian expressed gratitude for the condolences.
The leaders exchanged views on the prospects for bilateral relations, with President Pezeshkian recalling his successful visit to Azerbaijan with satisfaction. They stressed the importance of continuing joint efforts to implement the agreements reached during that visit.
Finally, President Aliyev once again invited President Pezeshkian to attend the upcoming Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit to be held in Azerbaijan in early July.
