Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev held a meeting with Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, in Tianjin, China, on September 1, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Prime Minister Sharif expressed gratitude on behalf of the people and government of Pakistan for Azerbaijan’s political support and solidarity during India’s military aggression in April–May this year.
Aliyev emphasised that Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations are founded on brotherhood and congratulated Pakistan on its victory over India.
He noted that India is attempting to take revenge on Azerbaijan in international organisations, but this does not affect the country, as Azerbaijan prioritises its fraternal relations above all.

Aliyev thanked Sharif for the congratulations and stressed the importance of these successes for ensuring sustainable peace in the region. The president highlighted the significance of his visit to Washington for strengthening Azerbaijani-American ties and particularly noted the role of U.S. President Donald Trump in these processes.
The meeting also addressed the work of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Intergovernmental Commission, discussed the development of trade and economic relations, and praised the implementation of Azerbaijan’s ASAN Xidmət model in Pakistan.
