14-point plan: Iran outlines conditions to end war with US
Iran has delivered a 14-point plan to Washington outlining conditions for ending the conflict, in response to an American proposal to halt hostilities, according to a report by Tasnim.
The Islamic Republic is reportedly demanding that key issues be resolved within 30 days. Tehran is also insisting on the unfreezing of overseas assets and the lifting of sanctions.
“While the US proposed a two-month ceasefire, Iran insists that issues be resolved within 30 days, shifting the focus from resuming a truce to a full end to the war,” the publication said.
Among the proposed conditions, Iran calls for an end to the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and the development of a new maritime navigation framework. It also seeks guarantees to end military actions, as well as compensation payments.
Additionally, the plan includes a demand for the withdrawal of US military forces from areas near Iran.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the new draft peace proposal reflects some moderation in Iran’s demands, potentially opening the door to renewed negotiations.
The report also states that, through intermediaries, Iran has expressed readiness to begin dialogue in Pakistan as early as next week, provided Washington seriously considers the proposed settlement plan.
