Norway awards Saakashvili prize for democracy, human rights PHOTO

Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has been awarded the Sjur Lindebrekke Award, a co-founder of Norway's conservative party.

The awarding ceremony in Oslo was attended by Giuli Alasania, mother of the former president, and son Nikoloz Saakashvili, according to Caliber.Az, Saakashvili wrote about it on Facebook.

The award was presented to members of the third president's family, while son Nikoloz Saakashvili read his father's letter.

"I believe there should be a world without oligarchs, autocrats and fear. I hope I will live to see this new world," Mikhail Saakashvili wrote.
