UK envoy congratulates Azerbaijan on Independence Day

The British Ambassador to Azerbaijan Fergus Auld posted a congratulatory message in Azerbaijani on May 28, Independence Day, on his Twitter account.

According to Caliber.Az, the congratulatory message says:

"Dear Azerbaijanis! May 28th is the most glorious day in the history of Azerbaijan. In 1918 Azerbaijan proclaimed its independence and established the first democratic republic in the East. The values of that republic are the values we live by today: freedom, the role of women in public and political life, human rights and freedom of speech. May the independence of Azerbaijan that regained it after 70 years be eternal. The banner once raised will never fall again. I congratulate all the Azerbaijani people on Independence Day".
