Azerbaijan, Slovenia eye deeper energy, transit cooperation

Azerbaijan and Slovenia are seeking to deepen cooperation in the energy and transit sectors, with natural gas supplies and strategic connectivity along the Middle Corridor high on the agenda of talks between Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Slovenian counterpart, Tone Kajzer, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. 

FM Bayramov congratulated his counterpart on his appointment and wished him success in his new position, Caliber.Az reports via the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

"The Ministers reviewed the bilateral agenda as both nations mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2026, emphasizing the importance of intensifying political dialogue, and advancing mutual support within international platforms.

The meeting highlighted expanding energy and transit cooperation, welcoming the delivery of Azerbaijani natural gas to the Slovenian market and exploring strategic connectivity partnerships along the Middle Corridor.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also briefed his counterpart on the current status of the Azerbaijan–Armenia normalization agenda and the large-scale reconstruction underway across Azerbaijan's liberated territories," the ministry noted.
