Azerbaijani FM discusses regional issues with North Cypriot counterpart

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has held a meeting with his North Cypriot counterpart Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu to discuss bilateral relations and regional issues.

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry said in a post on X that the meeting focused on important issues related to dialogue within multilateral formats, Caliber.Az reports.

During the discussions, held on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, officials emphasised the importance of North Cyprus' observer status in the Organisation of Turkic States, along with the need to expand multilateral coordination and joint initiatives within the Turkic world, including preparations for the upcoming OTS Summit.

“The discussions underscored the significance of the TRNC’s observer status within the Organization of Turkic States and emphasized the importance of broadening multilateral coordination and joint initiatives across the Turkic family, including preparations to the upcoming OTS Summit,” the ministry wrote.
