Black Sea Fleet Commander Viktor Sokolov spotted at Russian Defence Ministry's meeting
The Russian Defence Ministry has published footage of a meeting of the agency's board. One of the photos shows a screen displaying Black Sea Fleet Commander Viktor Sokolov.
According to "Kommersant", earlier Ukraine claimed that he was killed during a missile attack on the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol.
At the board meeting, the head of the Defence Ministry, Sergei Shoigu, made an opening speech. He described the progress of the special military operation and said that Russian troops had destroyed "more than 2,700 units of weapons and military equipment" since the beginning of the month. This includes two German Leopard tanks and one British Challenger 2 tank. The losses of this equipment were confirmed in the West.
During his speech, the minister also spoke about how the system of military training of students of civilian universities is being improved, and how the plans of the Southern and Eastern Military Districts, as well as the Airborne Troops, are being implemented. The ministry did not cite the speeches of other participants in the collegium.
