Türkiye successfully tests TULPAR armoured vehicle with 120mm gun

Turkish defence company Otokar and Italian defence contractor Leonardo have successfully completed the integration and live-fire testing of the TULPAR tracked armoured vehicle equipped with the 120mm HITFACT MkII turret, TRT Haber reported.

The work involved integrating the platform’s mechanical, electrical, electronic and software systems with those of the turret.

The trials included live-fire tests conducted in both static and dynamic conditions under various scenarios. The fire-control and stabilisation systems, as well as the main gun itself, demonstrated the stated performance characteristics, according to the report.

Leonardo Vice President Luca Perazzo said the HITFACT MkII is the only turret in the world equipped with a 120mm smoothbore gun that can be mounted on light and medium armoured platforms and fire Vulcano 120 guided ammunition.
